We Are Not A Muse aims to be accessible to all, and limit technical jargon where possible, but there are times when a specialist term is unavoidable. This glossary is provided to explain those terms:

Academy: A recognised society/school that promotes the arts and sciences. Each nation will have at least one of its own recognised schools that teaches the accepted aesthetic of that particular nation. The taught style and its approach to art changes with time.
Avant-garde: A progressive artistic style or movement, ahead of its own time.
Interdisciplinary: Involving two or more artistic disciplines.
Oeuvre: The body of work of an artist throughout their life.
